Depends on what is canon or not, I guess. In the book Darth Plagueis he kills him but that's one of the many EU books that Disney moved to "Star Wars Legends" or whatever so I guess it's open.

Even if Snoke is Palpatine, it won't help the movie beat Fate of the Furious for biggest opening weekend worldwide
