ALRIGHT EVERYONE CALM DOWN.
Almost? Which one's faster?Self wrote:I just tapped them both out in Pro Tools. The tempo is almost identical.harmless wrote:Yes it is. It feels faster to you, as you say, because it's more aggressive. But tempo-wise it's definitely faster. This is a mistake that 'PJ' is almost certainly making. I'm not expecting a very fast song.Self wrote:As far as tempo is concerned, it's not. And as far as the rest goes, the guitar riff and drum pattern make Go feel faster... I don't feel like I won, if it makes you feel any better. I feel like a bastard.Self wrote:Habit is a bit faster.
I am also a bastard. Cheers, harmless.harmless wrote:I don't feel like I won, if it makes you feel any better. I feel like a bastard.Self wrote:Habit is a bit faster.

I know someone who has heard some of the new PJ music and here is this person's take on it. It's not a lot more than what has been posted from Australian and South American media, but it's from someone I know and I trust their excitement and knowledge of the band.
His quick review made me all giddy about new PJ music. I just love that feeling. So I wanted to share it with all of you. I love this band. God how I love this band.
Mind Your Manners is REALLY fast. Fastest song they've had in 15 years. Maybe inspired by the Ramones and definitely reminiscent of Spin The Black Circle.
And then Sirens. Wow. Epic song. 5 minutes long. Lots of piano. Soaring vocals. Really layered sound. Some effects on Mike's guitar. I loved it!!
I didn't get the name of the 3rd song, but I liked it, too. Not as much as the first two, but a good, solid PJ tune.
Heard Mind Your Manners twice - it will be the first single.

Pls no.cutuphalfdead wrote:I bet Sirens sucks. It'll be this album's Amongst The Waves or Unthought Known.

PJ also just gave his review of the songs he heard from the album in the comments section of our story from yesterday, “The last two records have been billed in the pre album hype machine as their best since Vitalogy… except this one legitimately is. I’ve heard 4 songs. Shit is hot fire.” He also reiterated the points he made in late May regarding the announcement.
4 songs and the guy's already annointing it the best since Vitalogy?
A) Brendan O'Brien

Oops. I forget about forgettable songs though. Corduroy and Evenflow live might be able to give it a run for its money.stonefury wrote:Lukin is so fast it is only a minute long.
