There was a GoT trivia night at a local bar here. My friend's team name was Castle Black Lives Matter

Re: HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)
In Season 4 of my rewatch that probably won't be finished until halfway through the new season. Two things:
1. Everything between Joffrey and Tyrion at the wedding was amazing.
2. I hope Tyrion and Pod meet again; their farewell was probably the most gut-wrenching of the whole series so far.

Gendry is gonna reappear this season right?
I reckon he'll be involved in some sort of big twist shocker

TLDR: But none of it matters. Dragons vs. WalkersSimple Torture wrote:I've been catching up on GOT podcasts and detailed picking-aparts of the most recent trailers, and these questions are sticking in my mind; wondering what everyone else thinks.
1. Is there going to be an actual solution to the conflict that's brewing in the South? That is: Dany's host (Unsullied, Dothraki, dragons, Dorne, Reach, Theo+Yara) vs. Cersei and (probably) Euron. When I say a "solution," I mean: does one side get defeated this season or ever?
2. Does the Wall either come down this season or get crossed by the Others and their army of the dead?
3. Sort of an open-ended question: which major characters die this season?
My answers (no real spoilers, all speculation):
- Spoiler: show
PS - Hasn't anyone created an index yet of nude scenes? Like "S1 E4 19:36-20:44" and whatnot (I just made that up). I think I can speak for every single person on RM when I say that it would be nice to have that quick access to tits, ass, and schlong.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I had to click on the spoilers, but luckily I don't feel spoiled. I think I can safely say that it will be a great season.tragabigzanda wrote:Simple Torture wrote:I've been catching up on GOT podcasts and detailed picking-aparts of the most recent trailers, and these questions are sticking in my mind; wondering what everyone else thinks.

I have finally decided to stop trying to watch this with my wife and dove back in. I just finished the battle for castle black. What a great show.

I am really looking forward to seeing the TV show unpack some more of the white walker mythology. I'm two episodes into season 5 right now

6 got a good amount of love, but I've been rewatching and--damn--Season 3 was reeeeeal good. Jaime's confession to Brienne in the bath, Beric's resurrection after fighting the Hound, the revelation of Tywin's plan to marry Tyrion to Sansa, and Robb's execution of Lord Karstark happen in the same goddamn episode.malice wrote:after watching a good deal of the GOT marathon on hbo this week, I think i enjoyed seasons 1 through 5 more than season six

Re: HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)
not that season six was bad, just, i think the story was intensely interesting all through 1-5, and more battle oriented in six, to me. i really can't complain about any part of the series otherwise, it's probably the best show ive ever watched all the way through, and i never would have thought I'd like it based on what little i knew of it before watching it.Simple Torture wrote:6 got a good amount of love, but I've been rewatching and--damn--Season 3 was reeeeeal good. Watched the Blackwater episode last night. I know it got a lot of love when it aired, but the big fights in the latter seasons are much better/more epic.

Re: HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)
I always felt that season 2 wasn't as good as it should have been. Let the book material down. Loved season 6. Thought it would suffer with the books not being finished, but was never disappointed. Agree with the rest you said. Season 3 was really special.malice wrote:not that season six was bad, just, i think the story was intensely interesting all through 1-5, and more battle oriented in six, to me. i really can't complain about any part of the series otherwise, it's probably the best show ive ever watched all the way through, and i never would have thought I'd like it based on what little i knew of it before watching it.Simple Torture wrote:6 got a good amount of love, but I've been rewatching and--damn--Season 3 was reeeeeal good.
