Happy ending with Rey setting up new academy knowing all she knows -we taught you all we know.

Find another ending that isnt this and I’m all ears.
If this happens, I’m finished with Star Wars.

Throw in jar jar as a sweetener. You’re not done with Star Wars. No ones ever really gone.
You misunderstand me. If that happens, I’m finished with Star Wars.

Ah cmon. Live a little.

I’m sure I’m completely wrong. But which part do you object to specifically?
Rey and kylo showdown is inevitable. Palpatine is the wildcard. Could be anything.
I’d say force ghost(s) is just about inevitable given it’s the end and JJ loves pulling that nostalgia feels chord.

Is it any one or all of these you object to?

The Force Ghost battle royale mostly. But I also really don’t want Kylo to be redeemed. We’ve already seen it. We don’t need to see it again. Of course, it IS JJ Abrams, and we know he’s no stranger to rehashing what came before. Unfortunately.

I’m optimistic about Palpatine’s role in it.

Of course I’m all in on a Rey/Kylo final battle.

I’d be disappointed if kylo isn’t redeemed tbh. It’s sort of a central theme to Star Wars nothing to do with the accusation of JJ repeating things imo.
They’ve firmly established kylo and Rey as co protagonists in a way. He’s had more development or maybe a more interesting story arc than her so far.

I dunno. Can only hope I like it whatever it is and however it’s handled.

Personally, I'm still hoping for Kylo to remain willfully dark. I'd love to see him in a scenario where he SHOULD be redeemed but he intentionally turns away from the light. I think it could be heartbreaking and fresh for SW.

But, as long as it's a good logical conclusion that is supported by the text, I'll be good with whatever.

I feel like JJ is probably under some pressure to make it casual fan understandible/likeable. Disney is probably telling him "don' worry about doing dark or different stuff, we can do that in all the other shit coming out after this trilogy".

Well Palpatine is coming back in some form. If it’s corporeal it’s already dark. That means his spirit was lurking somewhere and those long fabled endless clones he’d inhabit and have to switch regularly as the dark side burnt the body out. That’s in shattered empire I think I dunno. But it’s already a bit dark with him in it.

Unless it’s just a fuckin holo recording of him from the past. Ugh

Read something cool the other day. The script for ROTS originally Obi wan holding Anakin as he burned and Anakin goes ‘save Me master’ and obi wan goes ‘I love you. But I can’t save you’. And he leaves him to burn.

I think they should have done that

Truly. It would have painted Obi wan in a bad light though.
And truly made him out to be not just a liar but kind of evil in his lying to luke later on when he says Vader killed him.
