The Dark keeps getting better, kinda reminds me of Betterman for whatever reason.
I love that Elton song. Maybe my fifth favorite track on the album.tragabigzanda wrote:Funny, I listened to this the first time last week in a couple months. The songs I like were even more awesome. The bad songs (The Long Way, the Elton song) are still really bad. But somehow the production was even worse than I remembered it.
Imagine having The Dark on your record, and making Long Way / Haves the principle singles.Coach wrote:The Dark keeps getting better, kinda reminds me of Betterman for whatever reason.
Still don’t understand the choice of having Chad Smith on this thing just to make him sound like a stock ProTools plugintragabigzanda wrote:Funny, I listened to this the first time last week in a couple months. Agreed, although I like the live version of Long Way. The Haves is really falling off - it now just sounds whiney.McParadigm wrote:I love that Elton song. Elton writing simple, melodic old school stompers around someone else's lyrics is usually a formula I can get behind, and it's pretty interesting to see how another songwriter approaches the task of creating music for Ed's lyrics.

The end jam is just like Betterman Live. This song hasn't lost a thing after many, many listens.Coach wrote:Ms Harmless wrote:I hear that tooCoach wrote:The Dark keeps getting better, kinda reminds me of Betterman for whatever reason.
It's a great pop song and it doesn't grow tired with age.Hatfield wrote:The end jam is just like Betterman Live. Pretty much the same here, too. Toss in Brother the Cloud once in awhile.Monkey_Driven wrote:The Dark, Mrs Mills, Invincible, and Fallout Today continue to get regular spins around here.
