God I hav no idea how I feel about this band anymore...this is a solid effort but it has moments like LTRP, SBM, and Future Days which are complete WTF moments and you know there are 3 much better songs that didnt make the cut for no good reason since anything seems like it could hav fit on this album given the diversity already...

I'm gonna try to write a review in a few days, but right now I feel like this album presents more questions about the band than it does answers. We'll see if my mind changes.

i think that would be a much more apropriate response then yada yada yuck yuck yucking as though its OK to bring amateur game to a 30,000 person venue.

for all the fucking gymnastics the fans they love so much have to go through to get god damn tickets you figure these pricks would at least practice a few times

Just watched that Stone vignette. That song sounds so much dirtier - and miles better. I really have a hard time believing that the bum fluff album version of LTRP is what Stone had originally envisioned. At least, I really want to believe that.

You are so right. When I saw/heard that I was like "Holy Shit" that's a cool riff. Even the chorus sounds better. Why is album version such @$$?

if that's gotta be PJ's alternative to knowing their own songs well enough to play them properly in front of 30,000 people without making 12 year old mistakes then i'll just go to a karaoke bar and watch other people screw up 'Jeremy' for a lot less money and a lot more sake

I guess some of us are more critical than others. I've seen probably 50 or so bands live in my lifetime.....some better than others. I've only had the luxury of seeing PJ 10 times, but have never walked away disappointed in any way. Flubbing the beginning of a song, or screwing up a lyric here or there.....really? Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm sorry if it ruins your experience. I guess it sounds like you have to go through a huge effort to get tickets, and then when you do....you expect perfection, and that's fair enough. For each of the 10 shows I went to....I picked up the phone....dialed Ticketmaster...and got good seats each time in a matter of 15 minutes.....no stress....no pain.......same went for this upcoming tour. I guess that's why I don't get so bent out of shape. To me, it's a great night out to see one of my favorite bands. I don't sit back and sweat the small stuff. Life's WAY too short.

It seems weird to slag on Stone when he just gave an interview in which he acknowledges wishing that he had more songs on this album.

LB sounds more BS to me than it does No Code.

There's nothing on LB to make you go "WTF?!" like say, "Who You Are" "In My Tree" "I'm Open" or "Smile."
(yes you go "WTF?!" after LTRP, SBM and FD but for totally different reasons).

PJ Different weird = good

PJ Different sappy keyboard folk songs/sitcom themes = bad

I get a sense of reservation from Stone. Like he's reluctant to really put himself out in front of the band these days.
PJ won't really get it's groove back until Stone rises again.

Honestly, I don't mind the album. I just look forward to forming my opinion when I see it live. I really only dislike Swallowed Whole. It feels to me like a sequel to Backspacer, which I also didn't mind.
