Nah. This time I'll stick with it. I promise. The effort I put into Strava this time will be directly proportional to the discount percentage I paid for the Boston 8s.

Yeah those are probably 7s.

Did you sign up for their email list too? Probably good for an extra 15% off.

I think I did.

Four months of low mileage, low effort runs and 10 pounds of extra weight will really do a number on your pace.

My shoes arrived at my house today but I won't be home for several hours. Then the next two days I'm on dad duty on my days off. Not really sure when I'll be able to even lace them up.

Good luck with your shoes Reid. I saw my old ones on the bench in the basement today. I need to get those in the recycle bin at fleet feet next time I'm out.

I walked 4 Mike's today on the treadmill. Hopefully it helps with my depression.

Thanks. I wore them for a short run to the park and back but forgot to press start on Strava. I'd been trying to get this run in for two days but I've got an infant who won't nap so now it feels like there's never any time.

What did you think? I could see someone with wide dinosaur feet not being into them but otherwise it would surprise me if you weren't satisfied?

Shoes felt good. They fit snug and there's decent cushion when I hit the pavement. Granted, I only ran for a mile, so it's a little hard to tell exactly how they'll work out long-term. No complaints so far though.

I love the sole. Very grippy.

After that little mile run a few days ago I've still got shin splints. New shoes needing a break in period, the concrete I ran on, lack of running activity for several months, or all of the above?

Keeping these jogs short and sporadic is a good move. I'm at a point where I don't ever know when I'm going to get the time to run, so I cherish the miles that I can sneak off and grab. Haven't felt that way in a long time.

And today I chopped over a minute off my pace. Still have a long way to go, but I love how just a couple of runs can get you back in a groove.

Week 4 in the sling. I just used a two for one coupon for Big Macs.

Whenever I've had to bounce back from an injury I go low impact on the treadmill. I don't know if the shoes need breaking in as much as your feet just need to get used to the shoes.

Last couple of runs have felt great. I think I'll keep the shoes.

I've been working through several different injuries. Mostly staying indoors. Doing elliptical, treadmill, and stationary bike workouts.

Today was my second outdoor run since my heel injury in October -- first since Jan 14th (see above).

65 mins. 7.26 miles. 8:58 pace.

Feet, knees, legs, hips, everything feels great. I might just be back! :hooray:

So... there's one thing to feel good about.

Boston 9 coming out soon. There's already a special edition for the Boston Marathon out now.

I have 9 more days in a sling. My fitness has disappeared. I've tried just straight up walking and the stationary bike but can't get engaged. My legs are too long to cycle. It just feels weird. Worst part is my PT is trying to tell me it will be another 6 weeks before I can run again. We'll see about that. I'm a little nervous about getting back to fitness but am going to try and take this horrible experience and use it as motivation to rededicate myself in ways I never have been before. I try and remind myself that form is temporary but class is permanent. I'm not ultra talented or anything, but at the same time I know I'm built for this shit and will be back.

Hope to see you back soon. What's the early scoop on the Boston 9s?
