Like, were the plans always on a planet called Scarif with a big battle?
Also, I missed the many Bothans dying, if that happened. Did that happen? I'll watch this again when it's out on Blu Ray.
Too bad, this is now a TFA thread. It was during the attack on starkiller base and I'm pretty sure Poe says something along those exact linesdurdencommatyler wrote:NoMecca wrote:Remember when The Force Awakens used the "we have hope as long as there's light from the sun" thing?

Tired of this.
Once and for all there weren't 'many bothans'
It was one guy!! Manni Bothans!
He was a hero in the galaxy. Like a Robin Hood / Zorro figure.
He went around helping the poor and fighting for good n shit.
It's criminal Manni doesn't get his due respect.
Dude should have his own standalone!

Oh right. Now I remember. Sorry, champ, it's been a bit since I've seen the movie. Stip's post helped remind me. Yeah, he says that because it's true. Because Starkiller literally drains the sun for power. I'm with you now.Mecca wrote:Too bad, this is now a TFA thread. Of course it is. I was just trying to wrap my head around what Mecca was talking about. I thought he was speaking only metaphorically, but I now realize he was talking about actual dialogue. I'm so tired. You understand what I'm saying.stip wrote:well i think its probably meant to be just a little metaphorical
I agree. It's part of the visual language of the films, especially post ANH.dimejinky99 wrote:Well Star Wars always had clunky metaphors.
In Jedi Luke is hiding under the stairs from Vader in the throne room. And Vader is trying to tempt him to the dark side. Shot of Luke's face one side is in the light the other in deep blue darkness. They did the same with Kylo on the bridge, light and red. Then the sun gets totally drained and it all goes red then he stabs han.
But it works.

And actually it's a great illustration of what LV hates about TFA. That kind of thing doesn't really bother me too much but I do like the more subtle hand Edwards employs.
