I don't know ... I think there is very little overlap btw "obsessive collectors" and "insiders." I think this dude is full of it.
This guy heard 4 songs, and he emailed them to me in a 4 song sampler. B, do you want to hear them?dimejinky99 wrote:AlternativeNation.net reader/contributor PJ has given more thoughts on Pearl Jam’s new track “Sirens” off their upcoming 10th album:
“Ya know some people are gonna be let down by this comparison. Nothing will be like Black. This record isn’t coming out in 1991 and this isn’t the end all be all ballad of unrequited love.
But musically, I have never been taken back by a PJ song on my first listen like this and I love all their songs and am an obsessive bootleg collector. It fits the same mold as Black would if it were to just be released is my point. And yes, Mike McCready is as Dimi has said 1000000 times, God. On this one especially.
Mind Your Manners is an obvious first choice for a single of the four that I heard. The same as Save You, WWS & The Fixer were in retrospect. People like myself and those commenting on the boards about this are gonna eat this shit up regardless of what the single is. The general music listening population doesn’t know shit from roses so you won’t hear this song til October. They could have gone with the Uke song had it not been off Ukelele Songs but Mind Your Manners it the best choice. If you look back at the August 2009 leg they did before Backspacer was released on a Sunday in September, they were only playing The Fixer, Got Some and debuted Supersonic. I would expect the same and you will hear Mind Your Manners and MAYBE that Uke song because it’s not really new at the two July shows coming up.
Don’t know what else there is to say. Hope you’ve enjoyed what I have had to report but if you’re putting all your expectations in hearing Black 2… you’re for lack of a better saying… really fucking stupid.
Love your PJ. They’re the greatest band ever. Stop being so cynical about them. It is what it is. Matt Cameron is the greatest.
PEACE & you can all buy me beers in Brooklyn.
(Not calling you stupid, Brett. Love the site. Keep it up) ”
because they probably changed the title of Sans Finis to Sirens, and the extra 2 minutes on the running time is blank space and a little hidden track on itE.H. WHO DO I BELIEVE?
if its not real, i like their imaginationstupidmop wrote:If sirens is real/ these people aren't talking out of their asses , it sounds like it could be Mike's ' kinda Pink Floyd thing'.
i think sobroken iris wrote:Sirens = PJ's 'November Rain'?
why only every morning? i think every hour is perfectly reasonableE.H. Ruddock wrote:At least update the TSIS main page with a new screen shot of the clock every morning.

Having said that, for some reason I find the idea of an angry punk song followed by an 'epic' song including piano quite interesting. An eclectic album with a lot of different styles might at least be something to chew on while we're deciding whether it's good or not, and inevitably moving towards a time when we'll feel confident that it isn't.
That would be joyous. NAIS isn't as high on my list as it is for some RMers, but it is evidently a good song.Strat wrote:harmless wrote:Mike + 'Kinda Pink Floyd thing' is Inside Job. what did you think they would have done that has you scared? riot act 2?its_not_1974 wrote:The track lists are bullshit and the supposed reviews are not anything to take seriously, but! For some reason, I think they have a real fucking surprising record ready. I don't expect Binaural, but I think it's going to musically be more in line with where I thought they would go post-Riot Act/Guacamole.
I am so scared.
Well the descriptions are making me less bummed about the first single being a super fast rawker thing.harmless wrote:Mike + 'Kinda Pink Floyd thing' is Inside Job. Which doesn't fill me with hope.
