Just exercise a little patience, man. There are so many other things to watch in the meantime.

don't be weird. he's my favorite director. if i want to see a bootleg version of his new movie, i'm going to see a bootleg version of his new movie. Oddly I think I liked it more in poor quality than in HQ. Like, my brain filled in gaps that weren't actually there and created a better version, or something.

I just couldn’t watch a movie I didn’t pay for in some way. Quality is a huge part of it, but even as someone who grew up with Napster and torrents, as I got older I just felt that art deserves compensation even if it’s just in the form of watching an ad here and there.

but if everybody just took it for free they wouldn't be able to make movies with million dollars actors in them, and they'd have to hire new york broadway people who throw ticket stubs at their customers to star in them

I care more about the people downstream. Less production companies mean less people working in general and it’s been a net loss that majority of what gets put out now is already existing IP. I mean, my $10 to see a matinee isn’t gonna make or break a studio, but it’s an honest way to live.

I'm a physical media junkie who I'm sure spends more on movies than anyone here but I don't care at all about any of the reasons you just said. Cinema is dead, etc.

You've convinced me. I'm not going to pay for Marty Supreme now.

i watched One Battle After Another (camrip version) before it was released and loved it, despite the poor quality. You can see beyond the distortion if you try really hard
Cmon

Doesn’t matter; it’s a personal principle. I can only control what I can control; might as well do what feels right for me.

poor quality can be charming. we're losing something in this HD-everything age

I hate to agree with tree but I mostly agree with him. I don't like HD. It just makes movies look worse to me. I draw the line at shitty camrips or watching movies on my phone, though.

HD is is like 20-year-old technology at this point. It's not even current-gen stuff.
