Also bar mym again they don't seen to jive with the mind-control/illuminati/big brother paranoia vibe I'm getting from the cover. I hope there's more songs on there that do. I hope sirens is one of them, someone said they could hear what sounded like a siren at the start of that clip, and the Greek myth siren direction sounds like it'd be too close to tremor christ and force of nature.

If the 'just longer, not deeper' theory is correct (and I'm not sure how we can tell based on the three we have, which are not exactly Mozart but neither are they shallow), I'm a bit worried about Sirens being exactly that: Force of Nature reworked. Basically, it's quite likely that every song on Lightning Bolt will be a reworked version of every song on Backspacer, giving us permission to throw our copies of Backspacer in the trash. That would be fine with me. A reworked Johnny Guitar might be an instant classic.

Apollo, if it's on the actual tracklist, might've gone with that overall theme, btw.

I like the idea of "Where's the Sponge?" being about the electric chair, and the fact that Ed has the worst politician ever in the chair and he's about to flick the switch.

For the longer reworked SoS will ed actually transform into meatloaf?

Going from no Obama bashing to figuratively killing him would be something he didn't even do that to bush!

Very much so. For all that I don't think he made the right choice in that particular song (Just Breathe), I'm not against Brendan's idea that the bridge might make a good chorus. I would've advised that about 90% of their catalogue, if I'd been in his position.

I would have if I had Red Mosquito and only had two live tracks to dissect

Essentially, it's very possible that the failings of this version of LB are all due to the fact that it's played live.

Totally. That's my plan. I'm going to skip to the stuff I'm most worried about (FD and LB), get used to that, then get to the stuff I think I'm going to like. But all of this after I've got other people's opinions. I want to read a few of those before I dive in myself.
