I do really LOVE the idea of Rey being "created" by Palpatine as a vessel for return. That's fucking great. But I'm not sure it really makes a ton of sense given the timeline.

I hope they dont fuck around with time travel and go back to beginning with Anakin as a kid. Please do not fuck everything thats come before with a stupid ending like that.

Ridley Boyega explained it fully explained in the story why and how Palpatine is back. He doesn’t just appear. There’s a developed run up to it.

Well, Colin T was supposed to close this thang so who knows. My guess is that the big story was already written in some form.
