Re: What movies are you watching?
Tenet
The Prestige
Following
The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight Rises
Inception
Batman Begins
Dunkirk
Oppenheimer
Interstellar
Terrible filmography. Though I need to revisit Memento and Insomnia before ranking them. It's been a long time.

Tenent (Complexity for it's own sake, which might have been interesting, but the movie gives me no reason to care enough to try to figure it out)
Inception (Only Nolan could make dreams seem so boring)
Dark Knight Rises (complete dogshit)
Can't remember if I've seen Following.

guys, it's "Tenet", it's a palindrome, you can spell it backwards or forwards, that's how you remember how it's spelled

I’ve been a Nolan hater for 20 years. He’s a joke

Re: What movies are you watching?
Many reasons, but for starters: I think he’s a genre stylist who constantly fights his nature to the detriment of his movies. That’s why Tenet is his one total success for me: it’s an exercise in genre style that’s unencumbered by Nolan’s usual, desiccating obsession with logic. He’s free to just work and move and the movie actually winds up somewhere fun and meaningful because of that.BurtReynolds wrote: Wed May 27, 2026 11:14 pmWhat do you not like about him? Basically, Nolan is a dumb guy who thinks he’s smart. He should embrace being dumb, because he could make much better movies if he did.
