I looked into tickets for tonight's game but best available yielded two seats behind a pole.

We got them for free through my fiancee's work. Grandstand 31! Not too shabby.

It would be my luck that they'll lose tonight, but then Tampa loses a 17-inning game and we back into the division title at 1:30AM tomorrow morning.

I'm nearly half right! The Rays and O's are currently in the 15th.

He is a machine and the most dangerous closer in baseball. Huge weapon for Sox and so unexpected.

Had to bump this, since we're in the ALCS. I feel really good about the way this team is playing, and love that the pitching is perfectly set up for the next series. Lester 1 and 5, Lackey 2 and 6, Bucholz 3 and 7 and Peavy 4. Okay, maybe the Lackey in game 6, if its an elim game has me a bit worried, but other than that, it's pretty solid. Getting past Tampa was huge, because I felt like there was a bit of a mental hurdle to be cleared there. World Series or bust.

that's exactly how i felt. odd how things change b/c it felt like a series with the yankees. especially when longoria had his game-tying hit in game 3 (and then the walk-off later that same game), it felt like the type of thing that used to always happen when playing the yankees.

I hate the Rays far more than I hate the Yankees now, and it's been like that pretty much since the moment Tampa didnt suck anymore.

Not me, too much history with the NYY. The Yankees are the rival, but the Rays just scare me. The Tigers scare me too, because like Tampa they've got some very good starting pitching. This series is going to be a grind.

I just hate everything about the rays. Their ridiculous stadium, their non-existent fans, joe Maddon, the whole thing. I at least always respected the Yankees, I have no respect for Tampa bay. That franchise is an absolute disgrace to Major League Baseball. Every year that goes by and they don't relocate that team the more disgraceful it becomes.
