This is the penultimate Gigaton track. Whenever we think of Gigaton, this song will be central to the vibe. That said, I have trouble seeing this last very long in a live setting. It would linger too much. But man I'm digging the transitions and the sound effectations, they really envelope you and bring you in to a headspace. It's a headspace I feel like I lived in after the 2016 election and took me a while to gasp for air and get to a place where I felt like I can atleast persist. This song brings me there. I thought I'd never find the song to express those feelings, and this one is doing it for me now.

I am now fully on board with this tune. Seems like the song Infallible wanted to be.

Alright into Seven O'clock is perfect. They could almost be one song.

First few listens I was eye rolling. This is that plodding pj mid tempo forgettable song they’ll never even play live. Why bother.

But now?

It’s kind of the star of the show. Or definitely one of them.

It’s everything I need in my life right now. In many ways.

This is the one my wife actually said straight of the bat that "this is a good one"

She doesn't dislike the rockier tracks, its more tolerating.

Yeah, I haven't tired of his love one bit.

Yeah, this is by far my favourite track on this album. The feeling I get is a bit like Marker in the Sand when it came out. But it's also a much better song. I could listen to it a 1000 times per day.

this might be my favourite song on Gigaton

This one...along with Dance and Quick Escape are flat out 5 star songs for me (not "just" Pearl Jam 5 star songs). The last one of theirs i had ranked this highly is Nothing As It Seems. The fact that i'm getting three of these in one album is amazing!!!

Yeah it's superficially a workmanlike, latter-era PJ track - with slow to medium tempo, Ed's Into the Wild 'Ee-hees' and some desired to be sincere lyrics regarding climate change.

That being said, only my 5th / 6th listen through of the album and I reckon it's the best track on the album. It stands alone strong and is very listenable, seemingly constructed with thought and purpose, something which is decreasingly apparent with each track that follows. It somewhat shoulders the album's thematic burden too.

I agree that it stands out with Quick Escape and Dance of the Clairvoyants - those three do feel like more effort was placed in constructing them.

the verses are hands down the *prettiest* PJ has been since... I don't even know

the juxtaposition of the beauty of the verses' music, and the weathered ruggedness of Ed's voice, is similar to that of something like Cash's "Hurt"
