Well, My preferences (so far) are:

1) Brooklyn Night 2 - Reserved
2) Brooklyn Night 2 - Floor
3) Brooklyn Night 1 - Reserved
4) Brooklyn Night 1 - Floor
5) Hartford - Reserved
6) Hartford - Floor

Haven't really considered Hartford in any of the past tours, how's the crowd generally there? Decent fan base? Decent luck for me as pref 5 and 6 to score 10c seats?

Let's see what I get, if I get any. Otherwise I'll dip into my PJ tour savings from (the lack of a tour) last 2 years and stubhub the motherf****!

Good luck to you all. Hope to see you NooYokers at Barclays.

Hey king, welcome back!. I have had a blast at the hartford shows. They are mix of everyonew from the northeast pretty much. The 98 shows was awesome, the 06 shows was cold but still good. The 08 was of the best shows I have ever seen. I skipped 10 at XL, but the boot sounded good.

The 2010 Hartford show had one of the best crowds I've ever been in for a Pearl Jam show.

Thoughts on if the 2nd Philly show (oct 22) will be special or not?

DOES NOT COMPUTE

But I respect the shit out of it

Im gonna actually answer this seriously.

1. I dont hate eddie vedder. I actually dont hate any of the actual moves they've made. My issue is that he still preaches against things he actively is a part of. I dont think he does the consciously. I think he really believes he is "one of us." But really he is more Doug RR than he is radioreid. I dont blame him for being rich, or enjoying his money... just shut up about what other rich people do with their money, especially to the group of people that MADE YOU RICH.

2. Can't really argue this. I dont like most of Backspacer. Avacado is "Gravity" to me. I dont hate most of the songs, I enjoy a lot of them... but dont like the album, and cant remember the last time I wanted to listen to it. Backspacer ive maybe listened to 3 times, and not once in the last 3 years probably. But to me, at this point, Pearl Jam is the Stones. If i go see them, its to see the songs I do love.. and If I get lucky, maybe some of the newer ones will connect with me. Believe it or not, I actually like some of the songs off Bridges to Babylon, so I dont write off new music, but I am honest about what I dont like.

3. I like pearl jam fans.. just not all of them. I dont like "IVE BEEN IN THE CLUB FOREVER I NEED FRONT ROW," or "OMG PEARL JAM SAVED MY DOGS LIFE," or any over the top hyperbolic love. I like that some of the people that are accused of being more cynical about the band are willing to acknowledge their love for some of it, but still able to be objective over crap like The Fixer.

4. You didn't make a 4th statement.

5. You didn't ask a 5th either, but I'll add this. What I really really DO hate is how Pearl Jam treats their fan base. Rising Costs, fewer shows, ignoring large swaths of the country for years and years. A fan club that openly mocks its members. For a couple years you could chalk it up to the "band doesn't know." But it's been too long. They either are purposefully ignoring their fan clubs shortcomings, or actively involved in them. You don't think Mike or Stone has seen tweets from fans upset with the fan clubs service? They KNOW. or at least have the ability to know if they gave a shit, and their continued acceptance of stickers and dog collars is on them at this point. As a band around for 20 years they should be touring more. They should be involved in making their Fan Club something people want to join, not debate about leaving. Even most here acknowledge it's just a glorified lottery ticket. IF they tour. IF they are in my country. IF they play near my home. IF i can get tickets... thats what your money buys you every year. BUT DEEEEEEP. Fuck deep. We have the internet now. I can know when Mike's Crohns is acting up if as a band they had any interest in keeping us in the loop, keeping us engaged. They don't. They know they have fans that will scoop up whatever crumbs they give us, and say "OMG PEARL JAM CRUMBS." If I had stayed in the fan club, at digital prices, i think id be well over $200 spent for membership dues since the last time they played within 3 hours of me.. and I dont live in McP's Dungeon nicely furnished garage in the middle of fucking North Dakota. I live in an area that still sells out major tours on a weekly basis. Pearl Jam cant sell it out? Then play somewhere smaller. Sure you wont make AS Much money, but if Kid Rock can sell out 8 nights here, I think Pearl Jam can at least give us one night every half decade or so.

It's their 23rd anniversary, it's not out of the question something special might happen.

I agree with a lot of what you say here, Skitch, except:

1) The Stones are terrible.

2) I like Backspacer more than you, however imperfect it is.

3) I don't think Ed, or PJ, rail against rich people. I never felt that the war they were waging was about class (good people have money too, and they know that). I think that Ed is more worried that religious fundamentalism and GOP / Republican attitude leads to prejudice and neo-fascism. That's not about money, even though money tends to accompany those types of people. I think the Ticketmaster battle they were in back in the day was more about them wanting their fans to have cheaper tickets. That's all. It wasn't a giant ethical standard they'd keep for all time.

Caught about 20 minutes of it in the car yesterday and you nailed it. I wonder what the band thinks about the religious fervor a big cross section of the fans have. I assume it's both satisfying to the ego and frighting.

I had no idea that subset existed. I've never really been a huge fan of a band where I had fundamental philosophic differences on matters that were important. I wonder how, if at all, it would affect my relationship with the music?
