Obviously this isn't the place to have good faith debate. Out.
Where did you go to school... Hogwarts?tree_ wrote:I have not made up my mind on this issue. But, on the surface, it does seem like a man who has recently transitioned into a woman has an unfair advantage over a woman in a fight. Do you have an argument against this?
I barely graduated high school because I was unmotivated and didn't pay attention. I then skipped out on college and was pretty much a vagabond for many years after a couple listless years in the army. I've only relatively recently become interested in educating myself on topics such as these. Please provide a reasonable counter argument to this because this is all I hear on the issue. It would be good for my brain.Bi_3 wrote:Where did you go to school... Hogwarts?tree_ wrote:I have not made up my mind on this issue. It absolutely is when self-ID is the only criteria.B wrote:Maybe I guess, but despite conservative horror stories, gender isn't the flick of a switch.
To mitigate the possibility, then, should trans women be required to meet a set of criteria before competing with other women?B wrote:I went through this FAQ: https://www.aclu.org/news/lgbt-rights/f ... -debunked/
But the most convincing argument for me is that there have always been very strong and athletic women who may have been cis or genetically indistinct that get unfairly swept up into attempts to ban transgender women from sports.
Could a strong male athlete start living as a woman just to dominate women's sports? Maybe I guess, but despite conservative horror stories, gender isn't the flick of a switch.
I believe the Int. Olympic Committee has set limits on blood testosterone levels.tree_ wrote:To mitigate the possibility, then, should trans women be required to meet a set of criteria before competing with other women?B wrote:I went through this FAQ: https://www.aclu.org/news/lgbt-rights/f ... -debunked/

Is it? It is something, but it is not going to undo a lifetime of training with a legal biochemical advantage in muscle development.tree_ wrote:cool cool cool
