It's just tuned down so that there's more reverberation on the snares. If it was cranked up it would thwack. I think the lower tone suits the dragging funk of it better than a tight snare would.

I'd love this and tremor Christ to be played back to back live.

This is one of the best songs of the album, and the lyrics are very significative!

I wish this song was as good as Tremor Christ. Really, really, really.

Or even 1% as good.

Infallible is pretty great, guys. But it's true that Tremor Christ is better. On the other hand Tremor Christ is also better than just about every song on half their records.

Tremor Christ is a very good song but one of the lesser ones on Vitalogy. It's better than Satan's Bed and Whipping but every other (proper) song on Vitalogy is better. TC is carried by Ed all the way. His intensity is off the charts on the delivery and it's one of my favourite Ed performances but the musical backing isn't very strong. Falls just short of the top tier of classic PJ songs. You already know how I feel about Infallible

Tremor Christ might be carried by Ed, but it's propelled by Dave A

It's got a good groove going on and Dave A gets props for that. The song is a bit too monotonous though and succeeds in spite of it, not because of it. Corduroy, on the other hand, is just perfect.

I'm listening to this again. It's just so disappointing. And those backing vocals make my ears cry.

Guys.
It's got roughly the same beat as tremor Christ.
That's all I was getting at.
Though in terms if lyrics, they'd tell an interesting before and after, if played together.

If they played Tremor Christ in Charlotte I would be happy with that and nothing else. Show up, open with Tremor Christ, then say "have a good night" and leave. I'd be ok with that.
