We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…
Matt Cameron absolutely loves the band, their creative output, their decisions, their touring schedule, his creative output with the band, and still loves playing shows, but just wants to do something different at 61 years old? Dude has been touring with bands for probably 45 years now.

Guys, Strat is correct
Yeah, that was pretty similar to my take. I wouldn't be surprised when PJ inevitably plays the Sphere, that he'll join them for RITFW or something.

Kevin Davis wrote:I'll say this -- I don't get the sense that bringing in Andrew Watt to produce Dark Matter was an equally democratic decision among all band members, and I do get the sense that his working methods were a shift from how the band have historically worked together to write songs. Maybe he just doesn't enjoy that as much, and isn't excited about the idea of continuing to work that way.
Working in that fashion also means there's limited opportunity for Matt to contribute songwriting ideas compared to the other members (or Watt).

I'm not sure why it'd be so crazy to suggest that creative reasons may have something to do with it; just because they play a factor doesn't mean it's acrimonious. And it's one of (if not the) most common reasons a band member leaves a group.
Strat wrote:you guys are doing it again. This thing where you project your distaste of watt onto reasons why this or that have happened in the band!
Perhaps Watt slept with Cameron's wife, who knows... hypothesizing
It is fairly entertaining what is being extrapolated from two statements on instagram.
No one here knows, just as silly to get defensive or argumentative over another's supposed belief... do we have a bible thread?
