Anyone using GoodReads?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Just finished Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch. There were quite a few places where I thought, "This would be a good movie scene" so I checked Wikipedia and see that Terry Gilliam was trying to put one together. That would have been ideal, I think, especially now that I see they want to produce a TV movie version. Why not a TV show? 7 or 8 episodes, one for each day...it's doable.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Just before we lost a day of posts, I was posted about reading "Varamo" by Cesar Aira. Finished that, now onto "The Miracle Cures of Dr. Aira."

I saw it but then when I went to reply it was gone. How was Varamo? I just finished How I Became a Nun and loved it so much (also have lots of ideas about it, how it works with Aira's other novels). I'm either going to start Varamo tonight or this, which was just given to me by a friend:Simple Torture wrote:Just before we lost a day of posts, I was posted about reading "Varamo" by Cesar Aira. Changed my mind, couldn't get into the Schultz so I put it down. Picked this up instead:

Thank you for clarifying that twice.
I got like a hundred pages into this and stopped reading. I don't know why. I wasn't bored, I just stopped.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Another poster asked if people would write the titles because it makes it easier for him to search. I don't know. I'm just trying to be a nice guy about it.Harry Lime wrote:Thank you for clarifying that twice.

Re: What are you currently reading?
What literary classic should I read next? I'm leaning toward maybe Pride and Prejudice. Or Ulysses.Harry Lime wrote:Ain't no thing, joe.
