yeah the regular 4 roses here is literally $18 a bottle and its good stuff...this weekend I'm making a trip to total wine and picking up stuff we've never tried before..i don't know what its going to be, just going in and grabbing what looks interesting

four roses single barrel is my go-to.
although funnily, even though bourbon was my gateway and the only brown liquor i could do before, i much prefer scotch.

My neighbor's brother brings crown every time he comes over. It's grown on me.

Crown is totally fine if uninspiring. Basil Hayden's is far and away the better whiskey, though. But BH is also a lot more expensive (at least in my neighborhood). Crown is decent and carries an unoffensive price tag.
Basil Hayden's is worth its price tag, though.

Between the two, Basil was clearly a Ten ... while Crown was merely - wait for it - The Mixer.

I realize it’s a joke how far behind I am on this, but I’m really enjoying a neat whiskey (with or without ice) here as I wind down in the evening.
