Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm - Quotes, Memories, Episodes, Etc.
From an interview with Curb producer Jeff Schaffer:
We were going to have a pop-up. HBO was going to build Latte Larry’s. But as our set designers were building it the one problem they had was, all the hand sanitizer started disappearing. They couldn’t find any Purell. So we said, that’s OK, we’ll just put something else in the bottles and put labels on the fake Purell bottle. Then I thought with everything going on, people are going to be stealing the fake Purell.
(When asked about Face Timing with Larry David): Then there’s a lot of complaining about why outlets aren’t at shoulder height. Why should we have to scrounge around behind the furniture like a raccoon to plug our equipment in?

Maybe it’s because I haven’t watched in a few weeks, but damn, just got through Ski Lift and Korean Bookie ... and holy shit you guys, two of the funniest episodes of TV I’ve ever seen.
Amazing.
Amazing.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It’s the one right after. There is a wedding on the beach. Larry is gambling on basketball via a bookie who he thought kidnapped and cooked Jeff’s dog. Chick on the ski lift with him got a boob job.tragabigzanda wrote:Ski lift is up there. I can’t recall the Korean bookie episode??

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm - Quotes, Memories, Episodes, Etc.
I have one episode left in S6 (season where Larry and Cheryl separate). I really hope they get back together, I’m really not loving the element of them not being a couple. Pretty sure I have seen Cheryl in clips from later episodes so the actress wasn’t written off the show.
Anyway my favorite side character so far is probably Marty Funkhauser, though Larry’s dad is damn good, too.

Finished S6 last night and I think what you’re telling me is S7 gives a heavy dose of Vivica Fox, which is all good. S6 finale was good and ... more Leon.tragabigzanda wrote:Season 7 is the best one, and I advise you not to seek out spoilers, just enjoy the ride.Bammer wrote:I have one episode left in S6 (season where Larry and Cheryl separate). Still like Funkhauser as best side character.

I'm through E6 and if there's anything I am truly consistent with in life, it's wrongly predicting what is going to happen in movies and TV shows.Bammer wrote:Finished S6 last night and I think what you’re telling me is S7 gives a heavy dose of Vivica Fox, which is all good. I absolutely adore when Vivica cusses out Suzie, that little scene is a national treasure.

I'm through S8 E8.
Leon is a good character but ... I dunno ... he's good, not great.
Still not a big fan of Dating Larry. I miss Married To Cheryl Larry.
I think the biggest belly laugh I've gotten (out of MANY) is at the very end of the episode where Larry decides to go to NYC for 3 months to avoid that charity event, and he stands up Richard Lewis for their lunch date. The final shot of Richard Lewis at the restaurant table was fkn GOLD!

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm - Quotes, Memories, Episodes, Etc.
After a little bit of a hiatus I am back, and halfway through season 9, and OH MY GOD this is the best show perhaps ever.
The cameos in S9 alone (Carrie Brownstein, Bryan Cranston, Salman Rushdie???) are you kidding me.
Why did the show take 6 years off in between S8 and S9? It totally threw me off during the sex scene when Larry started shouting out names of people in the Trump administration, I kept thinking the episode was shot 10 years ago (because Larry hasn't really aged ... he has looked 70 for his entire life, I am assuming).
Cannot wait to finish it all up and then go through this entire thread. The hard part about binging a show (15 years later!) is that it comes at you like a firehose and it's hard to remember all the details.
Marty Funkhauser is still my favorite character and his rant about the tap water at his girlfriend's house had me absolutely dying. When he gets angry and shouts his voice is exactly the same as when he's talking normally.
