UP until 2013 i still felt they were a regular band releasing music and touring. They still had a majority of their main lineup intact.

So, therefore, it wouldnt even feel like a nice "nostalgic" evening for me. It would just be fucking weird and I'd be pissed at the robinson brothers.
For me, the nostalgia would be for the music and not the band.
I think what im trying to say is i still listen to the black crowes on a regular basis. So its not really a nostalgia thing.
unfortunately strat, this tour is not meant for you or me...it's meant for people who want to hear Remedy and HTH and STTA and remember where they were when those songs were hits....
Yup. The target audience isn't concerned about the makeup or integrity of the band. Some hits and beers on a summer's night is all they want.
How's that any different than a Pearl Jam show?

Pearl jam will play for close to 3 hours. Ninety minutes of it spent on music that 90% of those attending have never heard.

I think that's one of the reasons why they now like playing these big event type shows, less casual fans and more hardcore fans.

Steve Gorman says that Chris and Rich Robinson are definitely making plans to reactivate THE BLACK CROWES for a comeback tour in 2020. "I know that they are," the drummer told Joe Rock of the West Babylon, New York radio station WBAB in a new interview. "Well, let me [clarify] that. I've been told by people involved that it's happening. Now, has either one of them told me that? No. I haven't spoken to either one of them. So, I have it on very reputable authority. But then again, until they're on stage, who knows what? But everything I've been told is that it's happening."

Asked what he would say if the Robinson brothers called him and asked him to take part in the reunion tour, Gorman, who played for THE BLACK CROWES for 27 years, said: "It's a complete hypothetical. They're not about to. They're not about to say, 'We wanna give up money.' I mean, that's what this tour is about. When you're booking a tour before you have a band, you're not booking a tour for musical connectedness and satisfaction. That said, they have every right to do it, and I don't begrudge anybody that can make a living playing music, especially songs they wrote. But they're not considering that at all. I think they're in a place where, I would imagine, they're not interested in having anybody from the past work with them. It just makes it cleaner and easier, because to bring people back to do it right, you have a lot of explaining to do, you have a lot of apologizing to do, and you've gotta make up for a lot of damage you've caused. I don't think either one of those guys has any interest in those steps; they just wanna go get what they need. So, I could play the game of, 'What if they call?' It's not going to happen."

It sounds like he wants called.

Yeah Gorman is a spurned ex lover. He'll never get over it either.

Say what you want about the guy, but he seems to be the only one who ever cared (and still does) about the band's legacy.

Are there any more shows Steve can go on & say the exact same things? I love the guy & am on his side with all the Crowes business, but Jesus it’s starting to get tired & desperate.

Everyone is asking him about it. Especially since he has a book out about it.

Hardly desperation at all. He’s quite happy promoting his new band and album which he is doing all over his social media

Somebody should make a Wolverine meme with Gorman and the Robinson Bros.

My general rule when I was interviewing famous musicians was to not ask them the same shit they’ve answered a thousand times.

I know after listening to TBC for 30 years I often think, "Man, just listen to all the hits these guys had!" They ain't Tom Petty.

SYMM will translate well live, it always did

Add in Sting Me, Remedy, Thorn, Wiser Time and Soul Singing

3 rotating "deeper cuts" and 2 rotating covers

there's your 20 song show for your 20,000 (1/3 filled at best) seater LOL

The fact that Chris & Rich expect people to buy tickets before even saying who's in the band speaks volumes about what they think of the fans who kept them going for two decades. Seriously, fuck these assholes, they deserve each other.
