Paul is reported to have referred to his attacker as a 'friend' in his 911 call, so maybe? The frustrating thing is if it was as mundane as this we still wouldn't ever get to learn the truth. If this is how it went down then Paul is a decent person trying to help this obviously unwell person without the cops coming in hot.

I dunno, it is weird that they were both in underwear when the cops arrived and the attacker let him use the bathroom in the middle of the invasion where he just happen to have his phone charging (as we all do). Maybe none of that actually happened. But the "friend" thing could very well just be him trying not to startle the attacker more. I suspect there are just lots of details that were misreported and hearsay in the haze of the last few days. There are exterior security cameras visible all over the area and on the Pelosi house so it shouldn't be too hard to track the person's movement into the property.

In any case, the Pelosi camp will be mum and allow the speculation that it was politically motivated run wild.
