no way it's gonna leak this early, it'll be much easier if we forget about it all until something drops

* raises hand* If anything I’ve become more committed to social justice and human rights causes. The difference is I understand better how things work and where and how to place my energy. And I’ve developed a better understanding and acceptance of how to live within what society demands and able to better hold the beauty and the terrible things in the world simultaneously.
Same. But how I measure that energy/resource expenditure becomes moving target, and thus far these new songs don’t warrant my expenditure given the ethical compromises I’d be making.
Just the expenditure of a coupla thousand posts about 'em.
Hahahaha

I think a lot of us have experienced falling out of love with the band at some point. I just think it's insane to endure the shittery of Avocado thru Lightning Bolt only to throw your toys out of the cot now. They're on an upswing if anything!

I mean, yeah

this album rollout has been slow and choosing Watt questionable (but logical, the band uses friends they've made organically and always did) but otherwise it's been relatively painless, no Target ad vids yet

I never fell out of love with the band, but the run of 9 or so years that only produced Ole, Lightning Bolt and Can't Deny Me pretty much had me ready to tap out as far as new material goes. Gigaton was an absolutely massive upswing on that material.

I saw them a couple times on the 2006 European Tour and they were bringing it every single night. That tour was something to behold, I can't see any kind of shittery around that time, tbh.

The album itself is terrible. I'm sorry.

Keep in mind: you don’t have to like every song to be (stay, become) a fan

No, it is not.

Lightning Bolt is bad, though.

That three-album run was stink city. I don't make the rules.

An album that contains Life Wasted, Unemployable, Come Back... can't stink, I'm sorry.

Gigaton was quite a surprise. And so far I like Gig’s first two singles better than these two, altho I really like the first new one.

And Ello, Avocado is a good album. But yea, 14 years between that and Gigaton is a long time, if you didn’t care for BS & LB (I didn’t, either).

Avocado is a great album. Looks like you gotta review the rule book.

Agree LB was below par though. Production really hurts it.

Backspacer brought the ugliest backdrop ever, though.

in time I've come to prefer that album over LB, but yeah that was the darkest time

Backspacer is a good album and really successful at what it tries to do. It's theirs Out of Time.

The problem is that they continued with the experiment with LB and it was a little too much. Double dipping.
