The Argonaut wrote: Sat June 20, 2026 2:11 pm I don't rate the movies because back when I did used to rate every movie, I didn't like the way it made me think about the movies.
Is this a neurodivergent thing or something? I don’t get it
What’s not to get? I would think the need to categorize everything into a ranked stack is way more of a neurodivergent way to experience art than the desire to just experience it for what it is.

A star rating is simply a visual representation of how much you like a movie. Seems extremely straightforward to me. I don’t know why it would be affecting how you think about movies.

And for the record, I didn’t really mean my question as the dig it might have come off as. I’m genuinely asking because my brother (who is probably autistic) once expressed a similar sentiment and it never made sense to me.

So far my favourite thing about letterboxd is seeing all the movies LV has given half a star to (Killers of the Flower Moon?!)

Nuremberg. Should have been called Goring, Generally as it was approximately 70% about him. It was okay I guess. I didn’t really feel the tenseness of the situation until the end of the (short) trial scene.

Surprisingly I thought Crowe was really good. I’m not sure how much he was like the actual Goring, but he was convincing as a German. As much as I like Malek I thought he was miscast. Always up for Michael Shannon though

I saw an interview with James Vanderbilt where he said it was originally supposed to be titled Goring, but he changed it to avoid people saying "Goring, more like Boring"

I see no reason to believe LV isn't sincere in his takes, as baffling as some of them are

Anyway, Apple letting Scorsese embarrass himself in public by funding Killers of the Flower Moon is elder abuse and they should be prosecuted
