Why did NIN put so much effort into the absolutely terrible TRON: Ares? They even exec produced it! So weird. The score absolutely rips but it's odd to hear it over such a depressingly flat and empty movie.

Man, I was so disappointed with Tron: Ares. There is so much potential with that franchise, and they fucked it up.

Watching Anatomie D'une Chute. Intrigued after the first 10 minutes. Seems very well made.

Anatomie D'une Chute deserves all the praise it received. Love it. Some of the acting was among the best I've ever seen.

Carry-On felt like it was produced by a bunch of Michael Scotts.

Three more movies down in my project of completing the list of top 1,000 movies from theyshootpictures.com

First was probably my favorite movie I've seen so far in this project, Ozu's Early Summer. It's a very kind, loving movie, and never saccharine or overwrought. Not much happens, but a very real world takes shape. I loved it.

Next I saw Kieslowski's A Short Film About Killing, an alternate version of an episode of Dekalog. If the rest of the episodes are like this, I'm looking forward to it. It felt like something that could only be done with cinema, very fascinating.

And third was the second highest ranked movie I'd yet to see: The Mother and the Whore. It was three and a half hours of mostly Jean-Pierre Leaud clearly channeling his director and being generally insufferable. But I liked it. At least enough to get through most of it in one sitting somehow
