This is very true, I think. It wouldn't have magically made all the jokes funny, but it would have helped with the overall enjoyment, I'm sure.

Mrs Wease is wanting us to watch this tonight. She’s hoping She-Ra is in it. We had a few of the toys as kids, but I never watched the cartoon. It was syndicated on cable and we didn’t have it. This movie looks like a live version of the cartoon and I’m afraid there are going to be many callbacks to the cartoon that will simply play flat with me having never seen it.

She Ra is in the post credits, but its just a second. I think you will be fine, all the callbacks to the cartoon are basically jokes to make you feel stupid and old.

Did the green tiger talk in the cartoon?

This was a very silly movie. He-Man has a great bod and I kinda liked the character initially but he's poorly written. 9 year olds probably loved this. Teela is hot. I almost kinda tolerated some parts. I didn't realize the director Travis Knight, son of Ben Affleck, was a Producer on ParaNorman.
