You don’t live here anymore, strat. Why torture yourself with the neverending parade of disappointment that is MN sports?

Spoiler: show

Fleury has been pretty far from lights out. Might as well try something else with the season on the line.

If this is indeed how it plays out (and it's as good a guess as any) do we here think the league would take another look at how the seeding is created? The Tampa/Toronto series would have been a fun Eastern Con. Final.

Were you talking this year or some years down the road?

I dunno, I feel like this goes one way or the other every year. You could also say that next round--Florida-Tampa or Florida-Toronto --should be the EC final, and that something like Florida-NYR ends up a four game sweep. On the other hand, there's still a reasonable chance the WC final is Avalanche-Flames and that seems like the dream matchup. So I think any tinkering could end up with the same problem, just based on how things shake out in the standings and when a team gets hot. I kinda like having divisional play structure the early round matchups.

I hate the hurricanes fans that think they are cool by wearing Hartford whalers jerseys to the games

I wish they could have played like that in game 5, but that was exactly the kind of game that won Tampa the cup two years in a row. Shutdown, defense first game with timely secondary scoring.

I like Tampa over Florida next round. The Bob looks vulnerable.

That was such a smart pickup at the deadline, he's been incredible. I hope they resign him, especially since they're going to have lose at least one member of the top six.

More confident in my picks for the east than the west, Kings Oilers could probably go either way.
Round Two:

Lightning in 6
Hurricanes in 5
Avalanche in 6
Flames in 6
