When are we going to see Scherzer sign? It's getting late? Will he be before or after Shields? I'm already seeing stories about the market for Shields growing as his price is going down.

As a Rangers backer I'd love to go after one of them and I know Daniels (GM) loves Shields. He has tried to acquire him a few times. But that asking price for Shields?

He honestly could be. Just going by the games he pitched against the Red Sox he had fantastic stuff.

Yeah indeed. I'm thinking there will be quite a few quality starts and 7 inning shut outs only to lose 2-0 or 2-1.

That said, it's sort of good to have a full tear down. I think they will start spending after this year. They do have good pieces in Freeman and Simmons, the 2nd baseman they are waiting to June on should be a stud. Catcher might not produce as much offensively, but he'll save a few runs defensively. 3rd base is basically vacant terrible contract. Center vacant disaster, Left Vacant. It will be a more smartly built farm system this year even though the MLB club is now Quad A. It's a damn shame they are 2 years removed from a 96 win season and they traded a bunch of young talent for younger controllable prospects. At least Hart isn't sugar coating it for once. He tore the band aid off. This franchise hasn't really operated that way for 25 years and they mostly do half measures that haven't worked. Might as well go cheap, see what you can find, and then spend big money 2016 summer and winter.

They shouldn't draw worth a crap this year so hopefully tickets will be cheap and available.

I'll be impressed if they win 70 games and aren't dead last in the league in scoring. I'm thinking more like 62 -100.

The one thing that I do like about what they've done is that they've made it clear they're rebuilding. I hate it when teams do the half-measures thing and end up just trying to tread water; that's what happened to the Jays for the better part of the last two decades. The way I see it, if you don't think your team is good enough/is going to be good enough soon, you might as well sell off the assets you have to build for the future. To me, the best thing a team can do is have a clear direction.

That being said... dear god, that lineup is horrendous. It's basically Freddie Freeman and... well... at least they have Freddie Freeman. Literally everyone else in that lineup is between slightly below average and terrible.

How high will Freeman's BB% climb this year?

Exactly. If you like above average, cheap, controllable young pitching and absolutely horrible, miserable, pathetic offense...this is Braves Country.
