No chance in hell Vince would ever let him be anything but a jobber.

Has Vince seen his neck tattoo? If that doesn't scream jobber then I don't know what does.

I’m sure he did the other EVP’s. I wonder if he did with anybody else in authority.

Honestly when I think Cody i think AEW

He always seemed to be on the periphery of AEW. I didn't watch that much (I don't have cable) but did he ever really do angles with the bucks or Omega? I don't recall him challenging for the AEW title either.

There was a storyline in his first year where if he lost a match he’d never compete for the world title. Can’t remember who it was against. But he did have a lot of big feuds when he held the TNT title, but he was definitely more of a big player prior to probably the last 10-12 months.

The neck tattoo did him in.

It’s when I had to question liking him. I never recovered.

I think Cody is very entertaining. Talented in the ring as well. Still has a lot of potential.

Cody is great, but almost all of the things he excels at are things wwe doesn’t allow people to do for themselves, if at all. I think this is cool just because it’s fun to have people jumping shows again, but all the reasons Cody left wwe are still there, even if he is going to be paid as a top guy now.

Agreed. I just don’t get it.

I can't imagine (outside of money) what WWE are offering him that could be superior to AEW. Doesn't he have his own shows on TBS/TNT?

What happens to those?

From what I’ve been reading, this wasn’t really about money. Sounds like Cody really resents that Tony took complete control of booking the shows, as he envisioned himself booking like his father. I can see that, but the show improved immensely when Tony took it over. Also, it kind of sounds like Cody was pretty jealous of Punk coming in and essentially taking his spot and getting paid a lot more to do it.

Although I enjoy following AEW weekly, I'm not sure it was a good move to take total control. There is something about the current booking that seems a little off to me, although I usually really like the PPVs. Early on, they had some really good feuds going, and plenty of seeds planted for the future. A bit more one dimensional now.

I couldn’t disagree more, I feel the exact opposite. The show had no direction before Tony took over. That run of episodes in December 2019 was not good at all.

I think Tony took complete control later than that.

It was at the beginning of 2020, he has said it in interviews.

When Cody was booking, his programs were great but not much else was. He also was giving Brandi free reign of the women’s division, which was disastrous.

I really hope the roster fat gets trimmed soon. That’s the biggest problem to me. And I’d like a little more storyline at times.

Can WWE just sign Cody or are he and Brandi a package deal?
