Stevens is a good coach. Hes who I hoped Fred Hoiberg could remind everyone of. Jury's still very much out on Opie at this point.

I'm still trying to shake off how embarrassed I am of the coaching job Fred Hoiberg did tonight. Totally shit the bed. I really hope he works out because nobody is coming to Chicago after the way the muppets in the front office threw Thibs under the bus. I mean, maybe if there are any other Iowa State guys in the good old boy pipeline but i'm talking real NBA level talent.

They also have a roster filled with good, not great dudes.
Yep. A roster full n C+/B- players that completely buy into what Brad Stevens is selling. The six year deal he got isn't long enough.
so mostly brad stevens. thanks for getting there, guys.

This Hoiberg thing is going to get interesting as the starters especially clearly disregard a lot of what he says in terms of the offensive scheme. This is the same crew that had somewhat tuned out Thibs (which was exaggerated by the front office). Now they have more freedom and a more player friendly coach and its still not working. You cant have it bot ways...

Here's Jimmy echoing the ghost of Thibsmas past:

"It's not even about being coached a certain way for five years," Butler said. "It's making everybody do their job. We weren't doing what we were supposed to be doing, what we wrote up on that board before the game, and nobody spoke up about it. I did probably not enough times, but I think that he has to hold everybody accountable. From the No. 1 player all the way down to however many guys we got. You got to hold everybody accountable; everybody has to do their job. You win your matchup, you do your job, we win the game."

"I believe in the guys in this locker room, yeah," Butler said. "But I also believe that we probably have to be coached a lot harder at times. I'm sorry, I know Fred's a laid-back guy, and I really respect him for that, but when guys aren't doing what they're supposed to do, you got to get on guys, myself included. You got to do what you're supposed to do when you're out there playing basketball."
