Nah that’s not it. You’re misattributing the frustration here. Nobody is angry bc a record hasn’t been announced thus far in the year.

If an album is “mixed, mastered, and ready to go”, there is literally no reason not to release it right this moment. Who cares whether a tour comes next month or in 4 months? It literally does not matter. If the music is ready, let’s hear it. The days of build up and hype are long in the rearviewmirror

Seriously, this is why artists have moved to just dropping songs piece meal.

Honestly the concept of an album is fading and I don’t care. Let’s just hear the music - it’s always been about that for me. I don’t need artwork (though I suppose it’s interesting), I don’t need teases, or hype. I just want to see 12-14 songs pop up on Spotify when I wake up Friday morning. Or, drop a couple each week for 2 months. Whatever.

Just give us the music IF it’s actually read. No need for the accoutrements.

I’m sure some are, after all, normal distributions and such. Having said that, pointing out what seems to be a very old and very flawed way of thinking about how you release your art to the world hardly seems entitled.

Evolve. Lives are too busy for teases and rollouts, AND, no one cares.

If the album is ready to roll, let’s hear it. I’m coming to every show I possibly can regardless.
