The entire discourse around it is utter bullshit and not worthy of even the slightest compromise or understanding of their position, actually. They should have been pardoned years ago, and it's great that they were finally set free now.

The year before, I watched for months as people were terrorized by leftist morons across the country who attacked innocent people, burned down neighborhood stores, and attacked government buildings. And I witnessed this personally in Portland, so get fucked if you think this was some kind of media distortion. And it was only after weeks or months that the government finally decided to crack down on them, and even then, nobody got sent to the gulag like the Jan 6 political prisoners.

The idea that these fucks and their lefty supporters would then clutch their pearls over some broken windows in one of the worst hives of utter villainy on the planet is beyond hypocrisy. And when these same hypocritical idiots (of which I'm sure many of you here are included) then demand that all these people should be imprisoned for life for wandering around a disgraced shithole for a couple of hours - as though they constitute some real threat to your precious institutions - the only necessary response should be: GET. FUCKED. INTO. THE. SUN.

It doesn't have to be about the issue itself. There are various reasons for gaslighting. In this case it's a trigger to pick a troll fight. Look at Musk's hypocritical comments that have already been discussed here. They are deliberately hypocritical. So arguing about what he did or didn't do and what he meant and whether he realizes that the things he is saying are baffling - is entirely pointless. The point is to get Trumptards all pumped up, and the liberals who get involved fall into the trap every time. It's been a non-stop cycle for so long now, it never fails. And those who are fully aware of it tend to not get involved. Just like general internet trolling. I've heard "I don't get angry about politics anymore" more times than I can count.
