Well, like I said I'd prefer they didn't have it at all, but much like interleague play I know the battle has already been lost. I'd like for it to infringe on and lengthen the games as little as possible if it's here to stay.

Why not? The Braves are solid at pitcher and catcher and they are guaranteed not to strike out nearly as often this year.

MLB has been looking at ways to improve the pace of play for several months now, and they tested some rule changes in the Arizona Fall League last fall. Among the measures tested were no-pitch intentional walks, a 20-second pitch clock, and forcing batters to keep one foot in the box at all times.

As a casual fan at best I am very encouraged by these new rules. Now, let's see them enforced for the entire season.

The Red Sox extended Farrell through 2018, which I don't understand at all. Sure they won a World Series, but they finished in last place last season and his in-game managing leaves A LOT to be desired.

I'm not saying he should be canned, but I don't see why he needs to be extended when they could have just picked up his option.

From an outsider opinion it did not make sense to me. I thought he would be on the hot seat this year. Very good year or else.

I think it's a vote of confidence in Farrell and I believe Cherington was extended, too. So, from a player's standpoint, you know that ownership has a ton of confidence in both, which isn't a bad thing. Stability goes a long way - especially before they toss that first pitch in spring training.
Both can operate in a tough media market, have a WS under their belt. I dunno. Much more to pick on (rotation!) in regards to the Sox. Although, today's signing of Moncada is a downright coup, so tough to find fault with the organization today.
AL East looks like shit. Could be an easier year to reclaim division title.
