Ive never seen anything like what's been happening the last couple of weeks. I have some memories of my parents talking about Watergate, as it was happening and it felt like the country was going to collapse. This is much, much worse, yet it doesn't seem to matter to people around here . i hear literally no one discussing it.

I still think Bush and the second Iraq war was a much bigger deal, and was far more dangerous and illegal. The dems weren't as hell bent on stopping Dubya though.

There was a carefully phrased message about not "feeling" pressured. When asked if the president actually had asked them to do anything, they refused to answer.

These are carefully phrased responses, and with reason.

Yeah, this. It was awkward to watch. Feeling pressured doesn't necessarily have to much to do with the request, although I'm admittedly not enough of a legal eagle to know what the actual obstruction of justice standard is. Does it need to be taken seriously by the recipient, or is it enough that the accused person has that intent? In other words, if everyone thinks Trump is a blowhard, then does it not count even if it would meet the standard otherwise?

I agree nothing is going to happen here (or with any of this, for that matter), but that's due to partisanship and tribalism, not the content of anything that actually happened.

I agree, however, the country's mindset was still revolving around the destruction of the world trade center, imo

I can't get over how rabid the Republicans would be if the shoe was on the other foot but now? Eh, move along, nothing to see here, just Liberal Left conspiracy theories.
I can't get over how one of the biggest complaints I heard about Obama was how he was unexperienced and naive in politics and diplomacy; that he would be taken advantage of and laughed at while lowering the United States of America brand on the world stage.
The other thing is that how rudderless the GOP seem right now. They have the executive & legislative branches but other than what should have been Merrick's SC seat what do they have to show for it?
