I love that album, but their debut, Hospice, is one of my fav post 2000 records

epilogue wrote:What kinda music is Antlers? Like gimme a general genre.
The Antlers are an indie rock band known for their emotionally charged, atmospheric music that blends beauty with despair. Key characteristics include Peter Silberman's distinctive vocals, which range from hushed whispers to soaring falsetto, intricate lyrics, and a dynamic use of instrumentation that can be intimate and sparse or expansive and layered with elements like piano, horns, and electronics.
Ps: check the album, you wont regret

Not VG...
I listened to their first effort Friday, reserving final judgement for after the subsequent two.

zeb can probably speak to this better than I can.
I’ll try though…
Projector - a little more post-punk vibes. I’ve not listened to the whole album because I’ve been so deep into the newest.
3D Country - a little bit of classic rock, mostly Stones as zeb said in an earlier post in the Geese thread.
Getting Killed - for me, this is like if Can and Radiohead had a baby.

Getting Killed is on once daily limitation to minimize over exposure.
It's too good. I mentioned to a mate that it's rare to get that giddy falling in love feeling with an album, especially as a 50 year old. It comes along every year or 2 nowadays.
I have a new puppy and she rises early. Our current routine is 6am walk around the garden then make a coffee. Then she has a 45 minute nap on my lap while I listen to Getting Killed on headphones. It's lovely.
