I really think "You Know You're Right" might be my favorite Nirvana song. I bet their fourth album would've been totally fucking killer. Man.

They booked three days in the studio for that January 1994 session but Kurt only turned up for one. The only things recorded by the band were You Know You're Right and some instrumental jams, portions of which (from memory) are featured on the menus of the DVD that accompanied the 'With the Lights Out' boxset.
Dave and Krist recorded some of their own demos on the other days, I believe the two Dave songs played on Self-Pollution Radio by Ed in 1995 (an early demo of Exhausted and a cover of the Angry Somoans' 'Gas Chamber') were recorded during that session.

I wonder - in an alternate universe - what the next couple of Nirvana records would have sounded like, if they had remained a trio in the studio and Dave had been able to get more writing credits.

I am with you, LV -- "You Know You're Right" is an incredible track. And regardless of where they come from I find it infinitely superior to "I Hate Myself," which I still quite like.
