Without hesitation/exaggeration I'd say they're the best band in Australia.

Okay some exaggeration...but, I do think they're one of the best groups you've got down there.

Checking out the remastered re-release of 2010's Qi by Phildel, which has also opened me up to 2013's The Disappearance of the Girl. This woman is wonderful and her story is romantic and inspiring. She's one of those artists that makes you forget anything else exists for a few moments. I give it my highest recommendation, for anyone who minds.

From Disappearance...

From Qi

yeah fuckin owns.
Mine shipped on Friday, hopefully it'll be here soon. I'm glad they're getting a big audience now, the music is good and they deserve it. It'll just be a bit weird seeing them play bigger rooms.

Very much deserved press these days. Amazingly, the only local record store in my area did not order the album. Cant wait for next Friday's show.
Have you heard their first LP? It's long OOP, but I strongly believe its one of best records of the past ten years. PM me and I'll get it you.

The new one just arrived, it's good. Like the last one, I bet this gets better with repeated listens. Although sometimes I think they may of come too far too fast.

Already have it, but thanks for the offer! That's one album I hope gets a reprinting in the near future.

After the 2nd listen, the new album just clicked, and now the wife and I can't stop playing it. I get what your saying with your last comment, but the material just gets better and better with each album, so its easy to forgive them.

Agreed. The new split 7" with R.Ring (kelley deal's new thang) is pretty rad too.

"Hell is singing straight into the void.....Hell is forever being local support....Hell is opening up a five-band bill.....Hell is headlining the blues festival."

Both new Beach House albums are good but not great. Mixing my favorite songs of both of them would make a pretty great record though, so I'm happy with what we got. Majorette, The Traveller, Elegy to The Void and Somewhere tonight are my early highlights on Thank Your Lucky Stars.

This won't be for everyone but I am really digging Robert Forster's new album Songs to Play. I've always loved The Go-Betweens and am generally a fan of individuality of voice and phrasing. Honest tuneage well delivered. And you can certainly draw a direct line from this gent to Courtney Barnett.

Here's a great live version of Let Me Imagine You from it.

The latest Beach House album Thank Your Lucky Stars is lovely. I enjoyed Depression Cherry but this is a little better even.

This is also where I stand right now. I can't stop listening to this thing. 'The Traveller', 'Elegy To The Void' and 'Somewhere Tonight' are some of Beach House finest songs. What are your favorites here?

The Joanna Album is magical and as incredible as expected. I urge everyone here to listen to it. This is something special.

Agreed. Love the instrumentation, and particularly the Jim O'Rourke-produced stuff. But her voice, and her whole "deal," just annoy the shit out of me.
Yep, me too. Not a fan.
