Damn. The Wild People sounds very promising. October cannot come soon enough...and I love the summer time.

After a few more listens, I gotta say that smokestack magic just isn't very good. The rest of the EP is quality, though

'the blown glass setting sun weeps electric light' is a nice lyric

As much as I hate the phrase cringe worthy, the 'blood of jesus christ' lyric in smokestack magic gets close to that territory

Pentecostal off Black Pudding is really good. Just rediscovered that track.
I played the shit out of Blues Funeral after it came out, but I think right now I'd put the top tracks off Black Pudding and both Soulsavers albums ahead of its best tracks.
Well, maybe not. Gravedigger's and Leviathan will hold up when I check them out again I bet.

Quiver Syndrome rocks hard too. Forgot about that one.

Quiver syndrome is good, but it was never a standout track for me.

I really wore Bleeding Muddy Water out the first couple months.

harborview, st. louis elegy, leviathan, and gravedigger were my big 4 at first. Sad Disco grew on me and now it and gravedigger are easily my two favorites.
The second soulsavers record is definitely better, though. That's the best of all his side projects, methinks.

That second Soulsavers record is just front to back amazing.
I think I might take Some Misunderstanding or All the Way Down as my last pick. Why not.

My favorite from Broken, behind the cover of Some Misunderstanding (or maybe Shadows Fall). Excellent album, would love to see him work with Soulsavers again some day.

I always liked this song but it really kicked me in the ass live when he stretches and screams out the chorus: The moon don't smile on Saturdays chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiild.

Just posting this here because it's news, but for the record I think the original mix of Sad Lover is WAY better than Homme's remix. I freaking love that song.
