Reading the Peter Ames Carlin book left me thinking of late-era Bruce as being not all the different from Paul McCartney. Both reached a point where they were simultaneously invested in the idea of their own greatness and lacking any sort of a real tempering agent. And with Bruce it might actually be worse, because he doesn't even get bad reviews....ever....no matter how thoroughly he earns them.

Interview snippet stories about him bursting into the studio with We Take Care of Our Own, declaring it a hit and telling his young producer "this song is gonna change your life," do a lot to help me understand why his music has trended so tepid and unremarkable for so long. I guess I should just be happy that he's talented enough that, even in such a miserable feedback vacuum, he still manages to come up with the occasional Magic.

What do you guys think about this? I've only heard Nebraska as a solo album and I like it but...

I take back my earlier comment about not being into for the money. I got nose bleed seats on the opposite side of the arena because they were the only tickets that weren't 182 bucks a piece(fees included).

I'd like to go but I'm not paying 100.. last 3 times I saw him I paid a combined 55 bucks

Worst case scenario the fake bruce is playing near my house right after.. the bar down the street from me runs a pretty fun bus trip to it

i want to see him (never have), but i couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on a 177 dollar nosebleed/opposite side of the arena ticket - which is all i could get to come up for hartford.

Do we know if Jake Clemons is any good at his instrument? I'm too dumb to know shit about the sax, but he seemed a bit shaky on SNL last night.

I downloaded it but I probably won't listen to the River part of the show until after the concert in St. Louis I'm going to. Take it Easy does sound great.

Working on a Dream is so underrated. Such a good album. My only reservation is that goddamn production.
