I really love War on Drugs, though.
Blech. Them and The National can go straight to hell.
I am indifferent to the National, but the last War on Drugs album hits a deep spot for me (though it certainly took some time to click at that level).
Man, that album was so boring to me.

Really? I assumed she wrote her stuff considering how she was spoken off when she 1st gained success.

I'm pretty sure she does at least co-write almost all of her stuff.

The Fame Monster is one of the best pop records of the last 10 years.

I got halfway through Monster before quitting. Don't say I didn't try, but it's derivative garbage indistinguishable from multitudes of current and former pop queen trash, except that its somehow more safe, vapid and cynical. That's actually kind of amazing: it apes a lowest common denominator product and somehow manages to sound less authentic than a Britney Spears record. How is that even possible?

you've been had. She's Jessica Simpson in a meat dress.

Holy shit, Spotify has a dual Tiffany/Debbie Gibson Greatest Hits album. Guess what I'm listening to this evening...

I agree with Joey, if they wanted someone ¨new¨to do this, St Vincent was the right choice.
But, i would prefer someone from those years, maybe an ensemble? With Jagger, Bowie´s band from the 90s, Iggy Pop...

hmm... after further review, this isn't a close matchup. Though Debbie is a bit more consistent, Tiffany is leagues better. She's almost War-on-Drugsian compared to Gibson's boring Gaga-like trashpop.

I'll listen again to be sure.

edit: oh wait, 3 of the 5 Tiffany songs are just bad covers, not including her one hit, which is a cover. She's more of an untalented Gaga than I thought.
