I can't figure out if we get stickers b/c that's all they're able to put together, or if it's punishment for bitching about AnalLog.

Perhaps they think their fans are perpetually 11 years old and from the 1980's?

I'd place my bet on a third straight year of stickers.

Here's the 2012 stickers.
Here's the only picture I can find via google with the 2013 stickers.

CC55781 wrote:Hi Guys - I just purchased the FLAC HD bootlegs for Sao Paulo, Atlanta Midtown, and Missoula. According to the info pages on each album the FLAC HD version is supposed to be 24 bit / 96 kHz. After downloading the files I opened a few from each album in Adobe Audition to run a frequency analysis. All of the files are 24 bit. However, all of the files appear to be upsampled from 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz to 96 kHz rather than original 96 kHz HD recordings.
I've included a link to an image below of the analysis showing what I'm talking about. These FLAC HD downloads are not original 24/96 HD files.

Mine was right, that appears to be (more or less) how they're doing it:
CC55781 wrote:HI Guys - I heard back from the 10C. I also checked the answer I received with another highly respected mastering engineer. I'm satisfied with the answer and will continue purchasing the FLAC HD downloads.
What is done for the FLAC HD files is this -> The digital files are originally recorded at 48 kHz, then transfered to analog for most of the processing, then converted back to digital at 96 kHz.
This is a common practice used by mastering engineers.
I'm glad they at least gave an answer.

If this is a common practice then it's false advertising. Sampling rate divided by 2 indicates the highest possible frequencies picked up by the recording, and while humans can't directly HEAR 48,000 hZ tones, they are thought to both add harmonic depth (similar to HQ analog setups) as well as allow for the noise caused by "digital rounding" to occur at inaudible frequencies, thereby resulting in a higher quality recording. If they are going D>A>D with 48 khZ source material, the highest frequencies are 24,000 hZ regardless of the final format, with an analog step adding noise and other analog-related defects (thereby lowering the effective dynamic range of the recording as well, measured in the word length e.g. 16-bit, 24-bit, etc.) It would be no different (though less bad) than recording an mp3 onto an analog cassette and then converting the cassette to 16-bit 44.1 khZ FLAC's...there are no musical sounds in those FLAC's that were not in the original mp3's, just analog noise at the lowest frequencies and anything above 16 khZ.
In short, these files are at best not much if any better than the 16-bit FLAC's, at worst they might even sound worse.

'Drumgasm'? Fucking hell. I'm all for a supergroup involving drums -- I love drums -- but 'Drumgasm'? Why must they keep using shitty, juvenile names for everything?
