Big MAGA rally for Cruz in my area today. The president will be in attendance. Streets are closed and folks are out and about. Obviously politics are the topic du jour around here this morning.

I've got a crew of contract laborers working on a bar remodel at the moment, all hispanic. The foreman's two sons showed up today for a bit, and we chatted. They are both American born and the older son is studying to be an OSHA inspector. The sons stopped by to say hello to their dad before heading to the MAGA rally. Big Cruz supporters.

This is all anecdotal, but I hear and see this a lot in my area. Children of immigrants and legal immigrants themselves are very supportive of the president's immigration policies and they are stoked that Texas is now an open-carry state.

Texas is not turning blue or even purple anytime soon, if ever.

My anecdotal experience in South Florida is very similar.

Is this caravan thing just weird timing or was it planned to coincide with the election? Seems to help Trump either way.

I have noticed that AZ Hispanics are decidedly more blue than Texas Hispanics.

Add the continuing influx of Californians and I think AZ is 8 to 10 years from flipping.
