The funny thing about oathkeepers is that some suspected that the founder was a fed informant from the get go.

Also, the group basically says the common person interpretation of what is constitutional or not is preferable to Korematsu v. US being good precedence. There are issues with everyone interpreting the constitution to their liking, of course, but... somehow refreshingly Jeffersonian.

*edit*: taking the mantle of "oathkeepers" is their equivalent of antifa. They are against violating the constitution (or in antifa's case, against fascism). How could you be against that!?

The entire Capitol police budget is around $460 million. The bill he's referring to included half a billion to address a National Guard budget shortfall and over a billion dollars for Afghan refugee assistance. But when has Glenn ever worried about details when he had the option to feel smug instead?

Expanding the capitol police to satellite offices on the west coast and elsewhere is certainly an expansion of their mission.

I don’t see any version of the bill that doesn’t include tens of millions in increases designed to hire many, many new cops and establish joint offices all over the nation, plus money to cover 06.Jan costs and set up a semipermanent Guard force in DC. So he may have the number wrong, and maybe he’s citing the original house version and not what was eventually passed, but he’s right that the feds did nothing to ch age policing after the violent riots of 2020 and the squad was… for the 100th consecutive time… nothing but whinging children

He made a very specific claim that wasn’t just a little inaccurate, but wildly off. He didn’t misstate the budget, he exponentiated it. He took a bill whose primary expenditure was Afghan immigration assistance, and presented the total cost as Capitol police budgeting. There’s no reason to “well, nevertheless…“ that kind of stupidity.
