Her mom is Ahsoka.
I know you're joking. But I want this to be true so badly. It won't be. But god I want it.
I would like that more than her being some God-like Force baby.

True. Hope they work that in there in an appropriate way. Snoke killed her.

To be clear, her being Luke's daughter is the last thing I want. I think it would just make the whole "new" storyline so much more stale.

The opposite for me. If the characters are just random people, it will severely weaken the story.

I'm not saying random, but would be much more interesting if she could be say, Obi-wan and Satine's granddaughter or something like that. Or tie her to lesser known characters from books/shows to then have an outlet for future stories for them. If Disney wanted to, they could keep telling stories FOREVER in the time period of TPM - Episode IX.

Yes, that wouldn't be a bad choice either. I really want Luke to have a kid though.
The original trilogy built on the back story from the beginning. I knew your father, etc. We see Luke with his family, them slaughtered. What is Rey fighting for? Who is she?

Rey is the daughter of Lei and Luke, guys. Its obvious they were incestual. Why wouldn't that bang each other? GoT got away with it, disney likes penis artwork in their movies and they very goddamn well can move this story forward with Rey being the daughter of an incestuous relationship. Maybe they will reveal she has down's too.

Rey has a connection to luke, likely through his academy.
The 'skywalker' connection in this series is almost certainly just Kylo Ren, and perhaps the end of that line

Let's not forget it's the Skywalker saga. That doesn't mean Kylo. It means Luke and probably Rey.
By the same token there are no plans for any saga films past 9. If Snoke turns out to be Vader it would bookend the whole thing and put a full stop to it. I wouldn't write it off out of hand. I haven't seen it yet to see how it plays out. I'm way more up for this than some bullshit about Plageuis.
Anakin was the chosen one. Who knows what happened him of what he could do once he passed into the force?

If we're reading and adding to this thread we know it's the skywalker saga.

The idea of making Ray "of the Force" is only interesting in that it's an opportunity to "un-do" or "re-do" some of the nonsense in the Prequels. If handled correctly it could really retcon some dumb shit and make it interesting again, I think. So, I'm not opposed to the idea on its face. It's not probably my preference, but I do think there is a way to make it work and make it really interesting.

If you are Leia's kid (Ben Solo/Kylo Ren), you are a Skywalker.
Snoke has to be tied into the saga somehow. It's a nine episode story.

My strong preference, actually, would be for Rey to remain completely unrelated to anyone we know so far. If I was in charge, that's what I'd be doing. But I'm not in charge.

Then how does she fit into the overall nine episode story?

And if they do a flip where Kylo comes over to the "good" side of the force, then BAM, there's your good Skywalker. No need for Rey to be Luke's kid. Plus, seeing cousins fight each other is kinda lame.

Kylo can't become good any more than Vader could. He murdered all of Luke's young students.

Anakin became one with the Force. He became a Force ghost. Only the good/white/light side Jedi are able to become one with the Force and live on as Force ghosts.
Snoke is a 7 or 8 foot tall humanoid character from beyond known/charted space.
These are fact that we know. Of course, there's a way for them to reconcile those two things and retcon a bunch of shit and change the rules on us. But it would be completely stupid and unnecessary. There's no need. It would completely alienate fans. What's the point of rules and continuity and canon, if you can just break away from all of that whenever you want? It's lazy and stupid and bad writing. It's inconsistent and it's not even interesting.
I just don't see a valid reason to make Snoke Anakin. And I don't think there's a realistic way to make that interesting. But whatever. I'm wrong all the time. Maybe I'll be singing a different tune if/when that turns out to be exactly what they're doing. But I just can't fathom a way that it can work.

You're not wrong. It's a stupid theory. If it turns out to be true, then fuck me, unless it is written well and intriguing.
