So 300 for the system, 2 60 dollar games, and some other game I'll never play works out but I dunno if I feel like dropping 440

My buddy has it. He's a huge baseball fan and an occasional gamer. He said it looks amazing, but finds the controls and gameplay to be too complex for him to really enjoy it.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Show franchise. Reminds me a bit of the NBA 2k series. More simulation based and very deep.

RM user numbers posted a pic of him playing on his Twitter feed, so he's probably playing it right now.Teeeeeekay wrote:Anyone play The Show17?
I still plug away at The Show '13 on my PS3, and I love the pitcher/batter interface--especially when batting. There are things I don't love about the franchise mode, which is where I used to do most of my fiddling in MLB games (High Heat Baseball, mostly), but I don't know if they've been fixed in the more recent editions.

I really love the all analog controls. Really makes the gameplay feel real. Now with the new engines everything feels so smooth and realistic. The ball off the bat physics are fucking stellar.
16 was great. 17 is a big upgrade.

i just looked at the seller listings for pro controllers and i'd never seen anything like this before. they're even popping up on old games like mario 3: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing ... dition=allbune wrote:God dammit. These "Korean" sellers are jacking up the Amiibo listings on Amazon. There's no way to tell who to actually buy from as there's so many of them on there now.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
Okay, so I've put almost 50 hours in Mass Effect: Andromeda so far. And I think...I think I kinda hate it. This game has so many fucking problems. The design choices at every turn are staggeringly awful, and make simply playing the game a constant pain in the ass. The story has terrible pacing, and there is no sense of purpose. It's filled - FILLED - with pointless, empty side quests that take huge amounts of time for very little reward. The writing is often horrendous, and most of the characters are milquetoast. The narrative is riddled with lazy similarities to the previous ME games. The combat is repetitive and boring. The graphics and animations are appalling for a AAA 2017 game. There is no sense of wonder, discovery, or atmosphere. The whole game feels like a chore - menial task after menial task, which are usually exacerbated by terrible design and interface choices. I personally haven't experienced much in the way of bugs, but my brother - with whom I've been texting about the game constantly since it came out - has sent me many videos of ridiculous, game-breaking glitches he encounters at consistent intervals. Ryder is an annoying dweeb of a protagonist, and there isn't much you can do to shape his character (I miss kicking ass as Shepard so much). The previous ME games were about building your personality, getting to know interesting characters, uncovering fascinating lore, and exploring an endless stream of compelling and involving moral choices. This game just feels like "go here, do this, dad joke, drive, drive, drive, drive, drive..."

I'm totally burned out on Mass Effect. What a epic failure. I'm actually impressed by how bad it is. I'm going to trade it in for Persona 5 which looks amazing.

Since Mass Effect sounds like a dud I dusted off my Ps3 and put in the Nu Star Trek game I bought years ago on the cheap and never played. It's kinda fun!

Zelda is spectacular. Still. I haven't felt this way about a game in years.

I massively regret buying the Xbox One S. Looks like it can, though of course it's up to the devs to support it.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I massively regret buying the Xbox One S.
