That scene with her father's holomessage....it's the worst kind of expositional rushjob, but it's so well executed I couldn't even care.

I figured out a movie i would like in the Star Wars universe. A "Star wars story" as they call it....

In ROTS, Rogue One and ANH we know the Empire is bad. We see only a few things as to why we should fear them, but you never really get the full expose as to why the empire is so bad. Those movies focus on the heroes of the story.

Maybe the Bounty Hunter story can focus on the absolute destruction that the Empire causes. The dirt, the awfulness, the terror. Maybe this film could be seen through the eyes of the bounty hunter and instead of an arc that ends with redemption of a character...

Something that we can really dig our teeth into that makes us feel a little dirty by the end of the film. Something that makes Rogue One and A New Hope even more powerful.

I have wanted to ask those in the know, what would day go day life under imperial rule be like say on Coruscant? is it any different than it was before?

So, my wife and I saw this once in the theaters and again last night via Xfinity digital download.

As my wife is much, much more of a very casual Star Wars fan, I thought I'd share her thoughts.

She liked Rogue One much better than TFA. Her in words, the story is just better and more tense, especially towards the end.

Originally, she had no idea who Tarkin was and that he was CGI. After I told her, she said he looked fake, but it didn't bother her too much.

Obviously, for me, the Vader scene at the end makes the film. I found myself essentially waiting for that scene throughout the movie.

Overall, great time, and I had a nice bag of White Rhino which really went well with the film.

The storywonk guy who we all love has done a rogue One episode. But it seems to be only available to his patreon subscribers.
I'll keep checking for it

I keep meaning to subscribe to his patetron. His Tolkien series has been exceptional. Better than the star wars one.,

Did you listen to the latest hobbit podcast from him?
He said it was up on Saturday.

Maybe he meant next Saturday?

I am going to listen to episode 11 tonight. Although this hasn't motivated me to go back and re-read the hobbit (which I did a few years ago) I may actually follow along with LOTR when he gets to it.
