Whatever you attribute to Trumps ascendancy a second time, how much can you blame democrats actions/inaction for it? Whatever the answer, it’s time for them to get their act together now and construct a response. He’s not going to be able to deliver on any of the big promises on bread and butter issues like inflation, especially not while getting into tariff wars with neighbours and allies. So start there. In two years ordinary Americans are going to be really feeling it at the supermarket checkout and gas pump. Far more than now. Get out ahead on that and make it clear it’s down to him.

An unusually coherent and sensible post from dime. I'm glad he's back on the meds.

I would only add that as long as dem voters are stuck in a reactive, anti-trump mode -- something they've been in for nearly a decade now -- they won't be able to do much of anything. As long as they are still terrified of Trump, they'll continue be stuck supporting a rapidly rotting order, with aimless, demoralized troops led by walking corpses. A positive, non-reactive program (hopefully free of the lunacy that has infected the left over the last fifteen years, but that's just my opinion) is what it takes to win.

This sounds like the type of evidence free fear mongering we’ve been drowning in all week. What is the basis of this claim from the poster?

No more/less legit than any of the other posters — “I work at the FDA.” But then I personally had dinner with an FDA prime contractor a couple nights ago, and while he didn’t talk about rollbacks of trials with minority groups, he talked about other stuff that doesn’t make this seem unreasonable.
