it was, though Doug's retelling of it was pretty boss as well.

I have a feeling Doug would be insufferable to talk to in real life, but he's perfect for telling the story.

at that price I had to buy it so we're watching that next. right now we're watching Fullmetal Alchemist and we're on episode 23. He's enjoying it and it's fun to watch it a second time knowing what's coming.

Holy cow, this show is awesome. Mahlek is amazing. The writing is way better than anything on non-premium cable TV, which is surprising because I think it's a USA show?

Ep 6, in which
Spoiler: show
Shayla gets killed
was a doozy. I thought, "How are they gonna top that?"

Then the next episode blew it out of the water with much quieter moments of character development:
Spoiler: show
Angela' conversation with the E-Corp executive, in which she asks about the meeting that lead to her mom's death. Tyrrell's breakdown after killing the CTO's wife. Then Darlene's conversation with Trenton, where Trenton talks about her immigrant parents who will likely die in debt. And then finally when Elliot tells his therapist all the personal shit about her.
This show is awesome. I'm all in.
Just stick with it past 2. Season 2 is kind of a slow burn and a little different, but 3 and 4 make up for it.
 Will do, thanks for the heads up.
Wow, this show. S1 E7:
Spoiler: show
When Elliot kisses his sister? Then finds the pictures of Christian Slater, who's really his father?
I am loving this thing.
Trag, it would be cool if you want to discuss Mr robot in its thread. Im starting the whole thing again, i actually saw 5 eps already of season one and i would appreciate your views.

Finished S3 of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I have some thoughts but I also have a project due. while I wait for the last bit of info I just want to say that I agree with most of the articles I've read about that ending, and particularly about that season. Abe is still the best thing on that show and Rose is a close second.

Main takeaway: there's a lot of things seeded throughout the season that culminate in the last episode. a lot of it was good writing, some of it was just a writer's decision to have there be strife next season and a thing for people to talk about over the break. Luckily there's a fourth season so they can work on this. they need to say 'five seasons and we're out" so they can go out big because I think there's going to be a decline soon.

Season 3 wasn’t as good as the first two, but the parents are indeed great. I also really enjoy any scene with Joel.

Her agent is the worst part, and especially this season.

the best scene in the season was the one where they were in the diner and young and idyllic and suddenly pregnant! and then they were back in the diner older and wiser and while yes the "Queens bad!" aesthetic was weird it was still well done because there was a huff of leaving and then the whole time you're thinking "but he didn't pay?" and it switches back to young and idyllic and excited. Jesus, just thinking about it again puts a smile on my face. that was so well done.

another fave is the one where Midge meets Mai and they're trying to one up each other. that's tied with the Lenny/Midge scene on that television show, a reminder of the party shows she did in season one.

The first Joel and Mai scene was gold. Great chemistry and dialogue.

And Mrs. Maisel in the boat with Shy, after he had gotten beaten up, was a very special moment.

Both scenes you mentioned were also very memorable.

Oh, and when Joel came to Vegas, and Mrs. Maisel performed on stage.

Agree with you all on season 3. It seemed more like a "hang out" season than anything. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't as strong as the first two scenes.

It's too early to be certain -- and I need to rewatch both S2 and S3 -- but right now I'd say that S3 edges out S2.

S3 has some lows and none of its highs are as good as the first 2-3 eps of S2. But S2 really fell apart for me after that tremendous opening run. By making it the Abe show and changing the setting for far too long, and not following through on some plots while too easily resolving others, it really pulled the rug out from under what made S1 interesting.

S3 is more consistent than S2. And Midge gets some shit to do. Also, the supporting characters and their relationships really shine without overshadowing the primary relationship.

The new characters are fantastic as well.

The main negatives:
1. Not enough Mrs. Maisel
2. Poor 60s scenes with Abe and the youth
3. Too much of the agent and her work
4. Some of the Shy scenes

Everything else was solid.

I love Susie. So it easy to see why we might differ a bit on this season. To me she's one of the shows greatest strengths.

I think Susie has gotten worse each season. But the show has a lot of great female characters. Mrs. Maisel is one of my all time favorite characters. With her mother not far behind.

yeah, that last scene where he tells her "you're going to do this to someone someday" was powerful because of how strongly she feels for making Mrs. Maisel a star.

and then she fucks her with the gambling. that was a lazy writers room idea.

Really enjoyed season 1 of Mythic Quest. I love David Hornsby so much.

Yes, the gambling was very annoying.
